since 1923
The brand's roots go back to the 1920s, when Josef Friedrich gained his first experience with leather in his uncle's small leather goods business in Nuremberg-Eibach.
His passion for leather and craftsmanship formed the basis for a family business that has been successfully run for over 40 years.
Joseph Friedrich
1949
In 1949, Josef Friedrich took over his uncle's business and ran it together with five home-based workers and three sales representatives. The company specialized in the production of small leather goods and quickly established itself in the Nuremberg region.
Ingo Friedrich
1983
The decisive step in the company's history came in 1983 when Josef's son, Ingo Friedrich, founded the company as it exists today and established his own brand under the name Friedrich Lederwaren (Friedrich Leather Goods). With new products such as wallets, keychains, and writing and document cases, the company expanded and quickly established itself both regionally and internationally.
Markus Friedrich
2005
With the arrival of Markus Friedrich, the company was restructured from 2005 onwards and the family tradition was further expanded.
Markus Friedrich led the company into a new era and created a brand world with Friedrich23 that combines the know-how and experience of three generations in contemporary designs and modern products.
Under his leadership, the family business has continuously developed. Today, Friedrich23 stands for high-quality jewelry boxes, watch boxes, and accessories that are internationally appreciated and sought after.
1987
New spaces
In 1987, Friedrich Lederwaren moved to larger premises in Schwanstetten, within the Nuremberg metropolitan region, to meet the growing space requirements of the expanding company. It was here that the development of the first jewelry box collection began – a product line that later became the company's trademark.
